What Airport do I fly into? – Zihuatanejo Ixtapa International Airport (ZIH). Ground Transportation to and from ZIH is included in your retreat stay. 

I am a solo traveler but would like to room with others, can you set me up with other retreat participants? Yes, if you are a solo traveler interested in rooming with other participants on the retreat, we are more than happy to help arrange shared accommodations. Please send us an email and we will help coordinate. Please note, shared accommodations will be based on demand, so there are no guarantee's we will be able to provide shared accommodations, but we are more than happy to try our best to accommodate this.  

What is the electrical current in Mexico? Same as the US and Canada. If coming from outside those areas, please check on the need for converters for electric outlets.

Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico? Yes. US and Canadian citizens need a valid passport when traveling between the United States and Mexico. For travelers from other countries, please check for rules related to visa and passport requirements.

Does the retreat hotel accept credit cards? Yes, the retreat resort accepts credit cards (Visa and MasterCard ONLY, unfortunately we do not accept American Express), as well as US Dollars and Mexican Pesos. Smaller vendors in town do not accept credit cards. You can charge all incidentals to your credit card – Bar, Boutique, Spa and Excursions even Tips to staff.

To secure the retreat venue and programming, the Retreat and Host are required to enter binding contracts with third-parties that do not allow for refund or cancellation, except for very limited instances where “acts of god” render the entire event impossible.  While your satisfaction with our guest services is important to us, because of the extensive time, effort, preparation, and care that goes into creating and providing our retreat program, we have a no refund policy.  All sales are final and non-refundable, as we must enforce a strict cancellation policy to fulfill our contracts with these third-party vendors. However, should you need to cancel and are able to secure a new guest participant to fill your spot, then we can discuss transferring your reservation value to that new guest. Note: You cannot transfer your registration to an existing participant who has already been registered and submitted their deposit in our system. A transfer may only be valid for a new guest registration. In any case, should you need to cancel, please notify the Host immediately at travel@heartdancerexperience.com

Start your mornings with fresh juice, coffee, tea, and light breakfast to kickstart your day. Enjoy a 60 minute yoga class every morning 8-9 AM, to wake your body up and support gentle recovery after high intensity dancing the night before. Following yoga, you'll have a full delicious brunch, then free time until lunch around 2 PM.  Your retreat facilitator, Abagail, will lead two hour energetic dance session starting around 4:30 PM that includes a thorough warmup, foundations drills, technique breakdown, with progressive combinations and some fun choreography! Abagail shares 35 years of dance, somatic, and fitness practices in all kinds of mediums and styles, to help YOU unleash your magic from deep within. We’ll weave in the essence of heat and sweat, to give the mind, body, and soul an opportunity to cleanse and revitalize. You'll have time to drink in the sunset and shower before dinner at 7:30 PM.

For dance classes: We’ll start with a warmup that includes mobility exercises to juice up the body, and some strengthening exercises to build heat and prepare the body for more empowered dance. We'll then move into grooves and some foundational drills as we build up the momentum into a follow-along, high energy flow. We'll develop some combinations into a fun and accessible choreography that we'll building on over the 4 days. This will be inclusive and accessible for all levels, and there will be something for everyone!  As we sharpen our sense of personal expression and what we want to “say” through our movement, we’ll have the option to record a creative group video at the end of the retreat, sharing some of the movement phrases  and choreography we learned over our time together.
